Abstract
Purpose: As the age increases, there is a low-level systemic inflammatory state and a decrease in anti-aging hormones. The vagus nerve activates parasympathetic nerves and promotes sulfation and secretion of neurotransmitters in the brain area. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effect of electrical vagus nerve stimulation for control systemic inflammation(CRP) and anti-aging hormone(DHEA) of elder.

Methods: Participants were thirty healthy elder. Fifteen subjects were randomly divided into two groups. The electrical vagus nerve stimulation was applied to the experimental group for 4 weeks. Serum levels of CRP and DHEA-S were compared with those of the control group.

Results: As a result, the level of CRP was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group. In the experimental group, there was a significant decrease in CRP before and after intervention. However, DHEA-S was not significantly different between groups.

Conclusion: Electrical vagus nerve stimulation may have the effect of alleviating the low level systemic inflammatory state of the elderly. These results suggest that it may have the effect of reducing the degenerative inflammatory diseases of the elderly and delaying the aging.
